Social Works

Sanve Biosciences Research Centre works in the field of social work for human resource development. Biotechnology and Bioinformatics based programme for social Development has been addressed for implementation of community based projects with a mission to social development goals to benefit large number of target population in vulnerable section of the society. It intended to benefit the large number of target population farmers, women (turn to career in Bioinformatics) and SC / ST population through skill development with various interventions of Agro-Based, Horticulture, Animal Husbandry, Secondary Agriculture and value based product and process development through Training and Demonstration Programmes undertaken in various income and employment generation activities. The emphasis was on diffusion of proven and field tested interventions with an approach reaching the unreached through outreach programme. These programmes were undertaken with the funding mechanism of Task Force on Biotechnology Based Programme for SC / ST & Rural Population, Task Force on Bioinformatics and Biotechnology Based Programme for Women through training and demonstration activities with a little support on R&D aspects for addressing specific problems in development of Technology Packages, Refinement and validation to suit different Agro climatic conditions.

The interventions undertaken are Bio-pesticides, Bio-fertilizer application, Organic farming, Cultivation of Mushrooms, Medicinal and Aromatic Plants, Sericulture, Processed food, Floriculture etc. In addition, the programme has also rendered Health Counselling services particularly to people afflicted with Genetic Disorders. These programmes have received wider appreciation.

Main thrust of activities

• To establishment of cost effective and eco-friendly management and technologies.

• To aware the farmers and rural societies for eco-friendly disease management program and sustainable agriculture.

• To give the training on scientific agriculture methods for farmers.

• To provide eco-friendly Bio-fertilizers and Tissue cultured plants.

• To promote Rural and Urban house women for cultivation of vegetables on their roof and in their lawn.

• To organize the tour program for farmers in the Kisan Mela.

• To organize the science camps events and quiz in rural schools and colleges.

• To promote the all peoples for every year plantation to save the environment.

• Free training provide in the field of Biosciences and Information Technology for Rural and Urban areas.

Bioinformatics and Biotechnology for women

• To promote and create Entrepreneurship development for women to use Bioinformatics and Biotechnological Processes and Tools for Rural and Urban community, SC/ST.

• To set up integrated facilities for economic empowerment of Urban as well as Rural communities. Bioresource complexes / Hubs, establishment of Rural Technological Innovation & Application Center.

• To promote and create Entrepreneurship development for women to use Bioinformatics and Biotechnological Processes and Tools for Rural and Urban community, SC/ST.

• To create centres of Rural Entrepreneurship Development.

• To support R&D aspects specifically addressing the problems of vulnerable groups for developing technology packages relevant to them.

• To create large employment opportunities for the vulnerable section of the society as an alternate self-employment.

• To support and implement projects in Biotechnology areas for Techno economic empowerment of the target population Women SC/ST and Rural Population.

• To support R&D component in such projects specifically for addressing the various Health, Nutritional and Sanitation problems of the target group.

• To undertake projects for Entrepreneurship development in softer options of Biotechnology.

Developmental Programme for Rural Area

In rural areas for dissemination and use of Biotechnological process and tools and for creation of new employment avenues training and demonstration projects were supported in various districts. SBRC serves through help Bioinformatics and Biotechnology Techniques and processes and gives training and aware to Bioinformatics, Bio-fertilizers; Bio-pesticides; Sericulture; Aquaculture; Mushroom cultivation; Spirulina production; Vermi composting; Floriculture; Animal husbandry; Cultivation of medicinal and other economically important plants. Few major projects were supported in an integrated manner utilizing the bio-resources available as ‘Biovillage’. Majority of these beneficiaries have set up their units and are selling their products in local market with good returns.

Bio-events

The department continued supporting bioevents to exhibit Krishi & Krishuk activities and promote product development at the Rural level by bringing awareness among the Rural population on various enterprising activities viz., Biofertilizers; Biopesticides; Sericulture; Aquaculture; Mushroom Cultivation; Spirulina production; Vermi composting; Floriculture; Animal husbandry; Cultivation of medicinal and other economically important plants. Waste utilization, Marine resources, Value added products and processing

Developmental Programmes for SC/ST Population

A Rural Bio Resource Complex was set up by KrishiVigyan Kendra in Azamgarh district of Uttar Pradesh. Interested farmers were trained to maximize production of vegetable crops like Tomato, Brinjal and Chilli, Candle making, Areca plate making, Vermicelli production, Vermicompost production, Poultry and Goat Rearing etc., Exposure visits and workshops were organized for the benefit of farmers. The farmers have been benefited through adoption of these technologies and utilization of local bio-resources in meaningful and sustainable manner.
